BRE will be responsible for collecting and handling data submitted as part of this research. BRE will process your information in line with our responsibilities under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. All BRE Group entities, together with BRE Trust, have their registered address at Bucknalls Ln, Watford, England WD25 9XX, United Kingdom. For the purposes of this privacy note, BRE Group is the data controller.
What data are we asking from you?
As part of this research, BRE will collect personal data where necessary to support the aims of the project. This may include basic contact details such as your name, email address, organisation, your job role, and your experiences in relation to PV-related fire incidents. We may also contact you for follow-up interviews where relevant.
Where possible, we aim to collect information in a form that does not directly identify you or any specific site. Your data will be anonymised and not linked to identifying information about you.
How we use your personal data
We will only use your personal data solely for the purpose for which we collected it: to summarise the associated data into a publicly available paper detailing the findings and resulting recommendations.

How we share your personal data
BRE will share the findings in a publicly available paper detailing the findings and resulting recommendations. In doing so, only authorised project partners will have access to the minimum data necessary to fulfil their project responsibilities.
We will only provide data in anonymised form and, where possible, in aggregated form. All partners are required to handle data securely and in compliance with UK GDPR. No information that could directly identify you, or a specific site where applicable, will be shared with third parties outside the steering group. Your data will not be shared for marketing or for any purpose unrelated to the research.
Lawful basis
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), BRE is required to provide a description of the lawful basis used to collect and process your personal data. BRE relies on the lawful basis of consent.
